Like many Android users all over the world, Sony smartphone owners are looking forward to the day when the much-awaited Android 6.0 Marshmallow would be released. Fortunately, it seems that they don’t have to wait for a long time since the update’s release date is said to be just around the corner.
In fact, many people who own the Sony Xperia Z5 in Canada have reported that they have received the Marshmallow update through OTA.
Unfortunately, these users have downloaded Marshmallow 6.0.0, not 6.0.1 (the latest version of Marshmallow that contains the new emoji pack). This means that they don’t yet have access to the latest emojis including the much-awaited unicorn and taco. Several users also mentioned that they have problems with accessing the Google Play Store since they downloaded the update, so those who have not yet received the update may want to see if the problem gets fixed before they download it.
In the U.S., several media outlets ha reported that Android 6.0 Marshmallow was to be released on March 7. However, it seems that the rollout was staggered and that different locations would receive the update at different times, which explains why not all U.S. Sony users have received the update even though March 7 has come and gone.
